WordPress releases updates throughout the year. Some add features, many fix security holes, and all of them change the code your site runs on. We apply them for you and check the site afterwards.

Why do I need this?

Out-of-date software is one of the most common ways websites get broken into. Once a fix is published, the weakness it closes is public knowledge, and sites that haven’t updated are easy to find. Updating blind carries its own risk, though: a new version can clash with your theme or plugins and take a page, or the whole site, down.

How does a Maverick website maintenance plan help?

CMS updates are included in every plan. We take a backup first, apply the update, then check that the site still looks and works as it should. On plans with a staging environment we can try a major release there before it goes near your live site. If an update causes a problem, we roll it back and fix the cause.
